Learning Support
Learning Support Services
St. Catherine’s High School, an inclusive institution, values diversity across culture, ethnicity, religion, abilities, and sexuality. The INCO team, consisting of nearly 60 Learning Support Educators (LSEs), provides support to learners on various bases, with their numbers growing annually.
These educators support learners full-time or on a shared basis, including those without statements but with specific needs profiles. Collaborating with other sectors, we aim to create an inclusive environment for all learners. Through awareness activities, diversity celebrations, and dedicated days, we foster understanding and collaboration among educators and learners, also organizing appreciation events and learning support awards.
The INCO team, in collaboration with other sectors, continuously endeavors to create opportunities for learners to access resources and celebrate diversity, irrespective of their abilities. We prioritize the professional development of our team members, providing them with multifaceted training opportunities. These include seminars, conferences, and ERASMUS Projects, fostering networking and learning best practices. Moreover, we collaborate with organizational psychologists to develop evidence-based intervention strategies, ensuring effective support for our team and learners.
In our commitment to inclusive education, we collaborate with external professionals to identify and implement additional support services. This collaboration enhances the quality and effectiveness of our inclusive practices. We stay vigilant in monitoring national policies and research relevant to our field, ensuring alignment with current best practices and guidelines. Our proactive approach enables us to adapt strategies to reflect the latest advancements, enhancing the quality and impact of our inclusive practices.
In collaboration with the Head of School (HoS) Office, we review the diverse needs of learners and propose action plans for improvement. Our commitment to sector-wide collaboration extends
across all sectors, where we contribute to decision-making processes and policy development. Additionally, we actively engage in extracurricular activities to enrich the student experience and promote holistic development.
In conclusion, the INCO team at St. Catherine’s Highschool is dedicated to providing inclusive education, ensuring every learner receives the support they need to thrive. Through collaboration, professional development, and advocacy, we strive to create a supportive and nurturing environment where all learners can reach their full potential. Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion guides our efforts, as we work towards building a more inclusive future for all.
